The Allen-Bradley 150-C9NCR is a versatile SMC-3 Smart Motor Controller featuring a 3-wire, open-type design. It is engineered for use with 3-phase motors and supports Delta configurations. Each phase is equipped with an integrated bypass contactor and overload relay. The front panel houses a rotary potentiometer for easy adjustment of the overload Full Load Current (FLC) setting. Additionally, DIP switches are available to configure auxiliary contact behaviors, start/stop profiles, and overload trip classes. An LED display provides real-time status updates, indicating OFF, RUN, and FAULT conditions.
This compact controller weighs 5.7 kg (12.6 lbs) and measures 12.6 x 5.9 x 8 inches, making it suitable for installation in tight spaces and minimizing heat generation. The 150-C9NCR offers effective overload protection with options for manual or automatic reset and various trip classes (OFF, 10, 15, or 20).
The auxiliary contacts can manage full 3-phase control and are compatible with standard squirrel cage induction motors. The controller is capable of detecting faults such as shorted SCRs, selectable phase reversal, phase imbalance, phase loss/open load, and overtemperature in the power section. Common applications include chillers, lifts, pumps, fans, conveyors, and compressors.
Start times for the 150-C9NCR are adjustable from 2 to 30 seconds, with kick start options of 0, 0.5, 1, or 1.5 seconds at 450% FLA. Initial torque can be set at 0%, 25%, 35%, or 65% of locked rotor torque. Current limits are selectable at 150%, 250%, 350%, or 450% of full load current, and soft stop settings range from OFF to 300% of the start time.
The controller operates on 24V AC/DC control power with a rated voltage of 200-600V AC and a current rating of 9 A. It functions at a maximum altitude of 2000 meters (6560 feet) and in non-condensing relative humidity of 5-95%. Its operating temperature is 0-50°C, and its storage temperature is -25-85°C. The device can handle a maximum Hp of 3-7.5 at 60 Hz and a maximum kW of 5.5 at 50 Hz, with a motor current range of 3 to 9 A. Vibration tolerances are 1 g during operation and 2.5 g when not operating. Shock resistances are 15 g for operation and 30 g for non-operation.
