The Allen-Bradley 1771-KE is a versatile PLC 2 Communication Interface Module that seamlessly connects Data Highway Modules with intelligent RS-232-C compatible devices, offering direct, longline, or modern connection options based on distance. It serves as an effective replacement for 1771-KC/KD processors and also functions as a slave interface between Data Highway networks and SCADA masters. Equipped with data highway and RS-232-C communication ports supporting up to 19.2Kbps, it requires a power supply of 5V DC at 1.2A from its mounting rack and occupies one slot in the 1771 I/O chassis. For secure communication, the module utilizes a 16-bit CRC and 8-bit BCC for data integrity, along with five front-facing LED indicators for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
