The Allen-Bradley 150-A1000NBD is a solid-state controller from the SMC-50 smart motor controller series. It has a current rating of 1000 A, an open enclosure type, and operates with a line voltage range of 200-480V AC. Designed to handle motors between 10-800 HP, this controller is built for scalable performance with user-friendly controls for starting, stopping, setup, and adjustment, which help in reducing energy consumption. Weighing 370 lbs., it has shipping dimensions of 60 x 32 x 15.8 inches.
The 150-A1000NBD offers multiple starting modes: a standard soft start, a selectable kickstart for a sudden high-torque burst, a current limit start for fixed low voltage, a dual ramp start for varying torque requirements, and a full-voltage start for immediate full voltage within a quarter of a second.
It features several protective modes: an energy saver mode, a phase rebalance mode, and a motor overload protection mode. Note that the energy saver mode is inactive when using a bypass contactor, and if both the energy saver and phase rebalance modes are enabled, the phase rebalance mode will take precedence. The phase rebalance mode ensures balanced 3-phase currents by adjusting the output voltage according to incoming line voltage. The motor overload protection employs thermal memory to protect the controller even when it is powered off.
