The Allen-Bradley 1336-L5E control interface board, designed by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation, provides a 24 Volt AC/DC control interface with encoder feedback inputs. It interfaces various signals and commands for 1336 PLUS adjustable frequency AC drives. If a control interface option is unavailable, proper jumper installation is required, and the input mode parameter must be set to 1. The 1336-L5E is compatible with multiple Allen-Bradley PLC modules including the 1771-OB, 1771-OQ16, 1771-OB16, 1771-OBD, 1771-OYL, 1771-OBN, 1771-OZL, 1771-OQ, and 1771-OBB.

The circuits used with the 1336-L5E must operate with a high = true logic state, meaning that when the control input signal on TB3 is true, the input terminals register 24 Volts. This board is similar to the 1336-L5 with additional encoder feedback inputs. For the low state, the circuit should not exceed 10 Volts AC and must have a leakage current of under 2.5 milliamps with a 2.5k ohm load. When adjusting the input mode parameter, power to the drive should be removed, and you must wait for the bus voltage to completely decay to observe the changes in drive operation. The TB input functions change upon reapplication of power to the drive. The board has programming options that allow users to select input combinations that meet their needs by first setting the start, stop, and direction controls, followed by additional control functions. During installation, ensure that the board ratings match the control power specifications.
