The MPL-A4540F-SJ74AA servo motor is part of Allen-Bradley's MPL series, known for its low-inertia design. This motor operates at 2.6 kW and runs at 3000 RPM with a voltage of 240 VAC. It has a rotor inertia of 0.00052 kg-m2 and delivers a continuous stall current of 18.4 Amps, as well as a continuous stall torque of 10.2 N-m. The motor's frame is 130 mm in size and can be installed horizontally or vertically, with the shaft oriented in any direction. It has a magnetic stack length of 4 inches and features a 24V DC holding brake to keep the shaft in place when not in use. Although this brake can occasionally act as a stopping brake, frequent use in this manner is not recommended.

For feedback, the motor is equipped with a single-turn high-resolution encoder. It also has 180-degree rotatable circular DIN connectors. Thanks to advanced winding technology, the motor is more compact than others with similar specifications, offering up to 40% more torque per unit size in many applications. The motor's coils are insulated with high-grade materials for efficient thermal management, reducing the risk of overheating and nuisance trips. Typically, it is controlled using Allen-Bradley's Kinetix servo drives and is designed to handle sustained shaft loads. Additionally, it includes a mounting pilot for precise alignment during installation.
